Woobox Static HTML Tab for Facebook Fan Pages

The Static HMTL Facebook Page Tab allows you to use HTML, images, or a URL to create a custom tab on your Facebook Fan Page. The tab is free and is easy to install and setup. Below are the steps and a video so you can install this on your own Fan Page. Step One Go to Facebook and search for “Woobox Custom Tab” or go to https://apps.facebook.com/iframehost-a. Click on the Green “Install Page Tab” button. Step Two Select the fan page from the “Add Page Tab” drop-down list to install the application. On the next page click the “Add Static Iframe Tab” button. Step Three The app will refresh the page and take you to the settings for the app or might go to your pages Timeline. Locate the apps icon and click on it to go to the apps settings. Want my book for free? Just click! Step Four Fill out the settings for your new tab by entering the Page Tab Share Settings first. This will allow those visiting your page to share info on your page to their Timeline wall. Next fill out your page source settings by entering in a URL (set the pixel height and if you want to hide the scrollbars), Redirect (enter redirect URL), Image (Select an image to upload, max size: 810px wide by 1200px tall, 400kb) or HTML. What you enter in as the source will determine what is displayed on your fan page. [hcshort id=”5″] [divider] Fan-Gate – When on you can display a different page for those who have not liked your page yet. When then “Like” your page they will see the content you entered above for the Page Source. Friend-Gate – This is included in the WooBox Pro Plan. You can set it to allow someone access to the content if they have X number of friends who have already “Liked” your fan page. Form-Gate – Collect information from the visitor before display the content of your page. Tab Icon – If you would like to use another icon the instructions are provided by WooBox on how to do this. Tab Name – Give your tab a name. Tab Image – Change the Tab image that is showing on your fan page. This is 111px wide by 74px tall. Please note that Facebook is changing Timeline for personal pages and this could happen to business pages, therefore Tab Images might go away. Install Another Tab – Install another Static HMTL tab to your fan page. Last Step: Save the Settings and then scroll to the top of your page and click “View Tab” to view your new page. 5 Reasons You Shouldn’t Use A Facebook Profile For Your Business

Did you know you are missing out big time by using a Facebook “Personal” Profile for your business? You can’t take advantage of all the features designed specifically for business. Business Fan Pages are the way to go when marketing your business on Facebook. Here’s some reasons to convert to a page and take advantage of these features today. Pages are free and you can create as many as you would like. Reason #1 – It Is Against Facebook’s TOS The number one reason puts your page at risk because it is against Facebook’s policy. The information below says it best on how pages are different including the ability to add page admins. Facebook has the right to disable your account and you would lose all of your profile connections. Plus profiles are limited to just 5,000 connections and pages are unlimited. Profiles represent individuals and must be held under an individual name, while Pages allow an organization, business, celebrity, or band to maintain a professional presence on Facebook. You may only create Facebook Pages to represent real organizations of which you are an authorized representative. Reason #2 – Potential Fans Can’t Like Your Business With Facebook profiles you have to request to be added as a friend. Depending on how often one checks their profile that might take several days, sometimes even longer. With a page fans can have instant gratification just by clicking the “Like” button on your page. You can even reveal special offers or coupons after a fan likes your page. Do yourself a favor and make it easy for fans to follow your business. #3 – No ability to schedule future post This is the latest feature offered by Facebook and only available if you have a Business Fan Page. Profiles do not have the ability to schedule a post. With this feature you can schedule a post for the entire week or even days and weeks out. This makes it easier to manage your social media and get on to running your business. Reason #4 – Not able to see page stats Facebook keeps stats on the fans who visit Business Fan Pages on the site. No stats are available to your business if you are using a profile page. Page Insights give you the ability to see how fans engage with your post, their demographics (age, location, etc.), total likes and more. This is very powerful information on how to market your business on Facebook. It’s free! Reason #5 – You can’t Advertise A Profile Page or Promote a Post The last reason is the only one that will cost you some money, but still can be cheaper than traditional forms of advertising. Plus using the demographics we talked about above gives you the ability to create highly-targeted ads on Facebook. You can’t get that with a phonebook, television or newspaper advertisement. There’s lots of great information in the Facebook Help Center to get the best results with Facebook Ads. Facebook also just introduced the ability to promote a specific post (Link: 5 Tips for Using Facebook’s New Promoted Posts). This new feature gives you the ability to target that specific post in front of more eyes. It’s new so the verdict is still out on how effective this new feature is. But it is only available to those who use pages for business. What are your waiting for? Pages are free and Facebook has no plans to start charging businesses who have pages. You can see from the 5 reasons above that pages are a better solution for business. More information on Facebook Pages can be found in the Facebook Help Center. Facebook Tip – Add Your Business Page As Your Place Of Work

Adding Your Facebook Business Page As Your Place Of Employment One thing I’ve noticed that several of my self-employed Facebook friends don’t take advantage of the full benefit of their Facebook profile. If you have your own business page on Facebook and you are self-employed it can be connected to your profile. How? In the new Timeline view or old profile view you want to go to your info page to update your employment information. Edit your Work and Education information and enter your business page under “Where have you worked?” box. Please note: Facebook has changed how your Profile information is displayed to others. Those visiting your profile have to click on “About” first before they can see the “About You” information and your place of employment. However the instructions below still work to add your self-owned businesses fan page as your place of employment. Book: Promote Your Business or Cause Using Social Media – A Beginner’s Handbook (3rd Edition) [Kindle Edition] – Just $.99 Cents When you start typing a list of business pages you follow will start to populate. Keep typing until your business page shows so you can select it. List will populate as you type the name of your business page Add information about your business including your position, city/town a description of your business and the time you have been in business or self-employed. Then the “Save Changes” and “Done Editing” buttons when you are finished. Down below that you can “Add A Project” to let others know what you’ve been up to. I listed my book and then added the 2nd Edition when that was launched back in September. Now when someone visits your personal profile and they hover over your employment information they can “Like” your business page right from your personal profile. How cool is that? Feel free to comment if you have any questions and if you found this helpful. By Dennis J. Smith Author of “Promote Your Business or Cause Using Social Media – A Beginner’s Handbook” [divider]
