3 Reason Why I Switched To ConvertKit From MailChimp

NEW: Take My ConvertKit Course on Udemy The only course on ConvertKit on Udemy is available now and co-taught with my friend and top Udemy instructor Phil Ebiner. I hope you will enroll in the course and learn about ConvertKit and the success both Phil and I have had in growing our mailing list. I recommended ConvertKit to Phil earlier this year and asked him to teach this course with me. We have over 2,700 students taking the course since it launched early March 2016 and the reviews have been very favorable. Scroll down to ready my earlier post on why I switched to ConvertKit last year. Plus my offer to help you get ConvertKit setup when you make the switch too. Enroll Now Enroll In ConvertKit Course Read more on why I love ConvertKit… I have been using the MailChimp Forever Free plan for at least a few years now and have build a following of over 3000 subscribers. That means that my plan is no longer free and I just recieved a bill from MailChimp for $50. That’s not actually bad considering I have paid for using their service up until now. But my focus has shift and I want something that helps me grow my revenue. But it was time to explore different options because my business is growing. Updated: My Subscriber numbers jumped after launching my new book “Udemy Life” in April 2016 I had been recommending MailChimp to those who follow me on social media because it was free until my list passed 2,000 subscribers in 2015 and is now nearing 3,000 if you combine subscribers from all my list. Because I run several websites each one has a different list and lead magnet to entice signups. I made the switch and took part of my mailing list to ConvertKit in late November and have been seeing much better engagement results. Now I’m moving my Udemy Instructor mailing list off MailChimp and onto ConvertKit and will only keep my smaller list on MailChimp. The screen capture above is a graph of my subscribers on ConvertKit over the last 30 days. You can see that I am averaging about 5 new subscribers each day and on pace to add almost 2,000 new subscribers this year! Just imagine what ConvertKit can do for your business by adding new potential customers. Here are the main reasons why I moved by list to ConvertKit. Simple It’s really easy to get started with ConvertKit and create your first form, import a list from MailChimp or other email marketing sites and sending out your first message which is called “Broadcast” on ConvertKit. It is also very easy to create what they call “Courses” and automate your list by creating a sequence of messages spaced out over several days. ConvertKit already lays that sequence out for you. All you have to do is fill it in with your own information and then switch each message to “Published” and then save the changes. Plus you can drag and drop your messages and rearrange them to where they work best in the sequence. Subscriber Count Most probably don’t know it but MailChimp counts subscribers each time they show up in of your list. That means if you are like me and have several list it is possible to have the same person in more than one list. If “Joe Smith” is in 3 out of your 5 list that you maintain, he would be counted as 3 subscribers by MailChimp. That means you could possibly be hitting that 2,000 subscribers in the “Free Forever” plan a lot sooner than you might expect. But with ConvertKit if you have 5 list and “Joe Smith” subscribes to 4 out of 5 of those list, Joe would only be counted once. Potentially saving you a lot of money if you have a large list and switch from MailChimp to ConvertKit. Support Support is super easy and build right into ConvertKit. It typically takes a few hours to get a reply and sometimes can take up to a day. I recommend that you check it out and start building your own list in 2016. It has a 30-Day Return Policy and plans start off at just $29.99 for 1,000 subscribers. Right now I’m adding over 40 new subscribers about every 7 days between my lists. Remember if you aren’t satisfied you can always export your mailing list and move to another provider. But I don’t think you’ll get the same results as you will with ConvertKit. Start converting students to revenue by building your own mailing list with ConvertKit! Sign Up for ConvertKit Here!   If you move to ConvertKit let me know and I’ll give you 45 minutes of my time on Skype to help you get started setting things up! Really, I want to help you earn more this year so don’t forget to contact me if you become an ConvertKit customer and if you enroll in my ConvertKit course on Udemy.

Hoping that I can make enough money to live on my own again and not have to work for corporate America. My dream is to travel around the United States and the world while run my business on my laptop and a Wi-Fi connected. My courses on Udemy.com are just my latest stream of income. I recently posted about my latest accomplish of hitting $100 in revenue this month in the Udemy Studio group on Facebook. I’m always impressed by the praise and support of others in the group and by those like Alun Hill, (How I Make $4,000 A Week From Udemy Courses – And No Filming) and Benjamin Wilson (Double Your Udemy Course Sales (In Just 2 Hours!) Guaranteed) who share how they have been successful with others in the group through courses they created. Several people in the group asked me how I am marketing my courses and I thought this would be a great way to share that since blogging is one way that I promote my courses. Watch The Google+ Hangout I Did With Udemy’s Top Instructors – Including One Who Did $35,000 in November I launched my first Udemy course “Marketing Your Business With WordPress” (Course Coupon Offer) back in the middle of July 2013. Being that it was a new platform for me I didn’t know what to expect. I had a launch party and created a Facebook event and invited friends and followers to show up at 8 am to grab a coupon code to take the course for free. I am admitting this now but I overslept that morning and was late to my own launch. But I was able to recover and had over 13 take advantage of the launch coupon. Lesson learned. I also promoted the course on several of my Facebook Fan Pages, my personal Facebook profile, sent several tweets on Twitter and pinned it on my Pinterest Pinboard so I have my courses in front of several hundred followers. This is what I call “Be Everywhere” on social media on getting your product in front of those who want to learn. I had 4 other students redeem coupons that month and after Udemy’s cut I ended up earning $14.80 for July which I received payment for the first week of September. Not much but it gave me encouragement to keep going. Update: I ended the month of September at $109.41 and just received my payment of $40.85 for the month of August. The month of October is already starting off well for me and I am getting ready to do another cross promotion with other Udemy instructors.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] Save On My Udemy Courses [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][divider][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] Would you like to experience a course on Udemy.com and learn something new? Take my 5-star “WordPress Marketing: Profits With Powerful WordPress Plugins” FREE by entering your first name and email address in the form below. Save $20! In August I added a 2nd course “MailChimp: MailChimp’s Forever Free Email Marketing Plan” to the mix. That month I saw 9 purchases mostly my “Marketing Your Business With WordPress” course and mostly from “Udemy Organic”. Which according to Udemy is “Purchases of your course driven by either organic traffic on Udemy’s site (typically at full price), or by Udemy email marketing campaigns to existing Udemy users (often at a discount).” August was also the first month that I distributed “Free” coupons in the Facebook Udemy Studio group which has almost 19,400 active users. You can learn a lot about Udemy course creation and marketing by actively participating group and the Facebook Udemy Facility Lounge once you are an active instructor on Udemy. I ended up with over 2,259 new students which gave me social proof and several 5-star reviews for the course. My book “Promote Your Business or Cause Using Social Media – A Beginner’s Handbook” has over 25 reviews with an average of 4.5—stars. I have sold almost 1,000 copies of the book since its launch 2 years ago so I know the importance of good reviews. It gets those who are on the fence on board with buying your book or taking your course. I also had a free webinar “Building Your Online Audience” in August and have a link to my Udemy course that displays in the replay of the webinar. Webinars are a affordable way to build your email marketing list and get your Udemy course out in front of fresh eyes. I use RunClick which is a premium plugin that works with WordPress. I finished up the month of August with $40.85 and should be receiving that the first week of October. Most likely I will reinvest it and try promoting my courses with Facebook Ads.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][divider][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] Right now I am in my 2nd full month of having my courses on Udemy and I continue to promote my courses on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and my website. I also came across the courses I mentioned in the beginning of this post by Alun Hill and Benjamin Wilson. I’m starting to try their suggestions and toying…

Email Marketing Offers Better Engagement Than Facebook

Are you struggling with engagement on Facebook? Not getting as many likes, comments and shares? Many are finding out that it is getting tougher to get your message across to their fans on Facebook. That’s why I started focusing on email marketing this year and growing my list with MailChimp. Why MailChimp? I picked MailChimp for my business because I can have up to 2,000 subscribers and send 12,000 messages a month with their Forever Free plan, which is an affordable solution for those just getting started with email marketing. According to a recent survey email is 40 times more effective for marketers than Facebook and Twitter. Now that’s a serious ass kicking when it comes to marketing your business. Studies have also found that the average order is about 17 percent higher than those that come through social media sites such as Facebook. I’ve put together a special FREE 6-part video series to get you started with your own MailChimp account. Just add your e-mail address below to get started and I will send you a free email marketing tools PDF Report and send your first video in a few days to give you time to read the report. Grow Your MailChimp Mailing List On The Go

Do you find yourself looking for ways to grow your mailing list? Nathan Barry puts out some great content on how to do that and be successful. Recently a client of mine sent me an email with some information from MailChimp. If you’re not familiar, MailChimp is a website that I use to keep track of my mailing list subscribers and send them newsletters each month or bi-weekly. They have this simple app called Chimpadeedoo for your iPad and Android tablet. The app is free and can be customized (see screenshot below) according to your your type of business. It makes it easy to sign up new subscribers when attending in-person events. Thanks to @MailChimp and a well-placed iPad w/ Chimpadeedoo, have a client that’s gone from 250 subscribers to 10,000 in one year.Love it. — Armin Ghazi (@ask_armin) February 6, 2012 You can decide how much information you want to collect from subscribers. However I recommend that you keep it to something like first name and e-mail address. Studies show that the less information you ask for the better chances you have that someone will subscribe to your list. Do you have a mailing list for your business? Are you using MailChimp or another service? Leave me a comment below and lets chat. Setting up Chimpadeedoo Check out this Chimpadeedoo success stories I found on the MailChimp blog. [hcshort id=”5″]
